Suburban Natural Gas Seeks Rate Increase
If Approved Typical Consumers Will Pay $84 More per Year
Suburban Gas is proposing to increase the charges its 21,000 residential consumers pay for natural gas. This increase would cost a typical Suburban residential consumer using 6 mcf more than $84 extra per year.
These charges would appear on the bills of Suburban’s residential consumers, across its service Central and Northwest Ohio territory.
Suburban’s request is driven in part by a proposal for consumers to fund profits (return on equity) of 11.70%. This profit is higher than the profit incorporated into rates approved for gas companies elsewhere in Ohio and nationwide.
OCC is actively engaged in this case, bringing a team of experts to the table dedicated to uncovering the facts behind Suburban’s proposal. We will be advocating that Suburban customers pay what is needed for the company to deliver a safe and reliable supply of natural gas, with a fair and reasonable profit.
We encourage Suburban’s consumers to get involved and make your voice heard at the PUCO!
See below for ways you can let the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) know what you think about Suburban’s new rate proposal.
